Mission Statement

We are entrusted by the people of Biron to supply high quality water for consumption and fire protection, at a reasonable cost, while conserving and protecting our ground water resources for present and future generations.

Summary

The Water Utility is responsible for maintaining approximately 18.5 miles of water mains varying in size from 4 inches to 16 inches in diameter, 152 hydrants, 195 valves and 400 service laterals, and 430 water meters.  All water meters are read by an electronic reading system. The Utility also maintains one elevated storage tank with a storage capacity of 250,000 gallons. Water system users are billed monthly.

Water Wells

The Utility has two wells with an average depth of 65 feet and a combined pumping capacity of 1,000 gallons per minute.  The average daily pumpage ranges from 56,000 gallons to 185,000 gallons
