🚧 RAILROAD CROSSING CLOSURES 🚧
The Village of Biron is notifying residents and motorists that railroad crossings in Biron and Plover will be closed for railroad crossing replacement work beginning Monday, September 14th, through Friday, September 25th, 2026.
🚧 Important Traffic Information
- Only the railroad crossings will be closed.
- Hwy 54 will remain OPEN between the railroad crossings.
- No local streets in Biron or Plover will be closed as part of this project.
- Motorists should expect some additional travel time and use caution while the crossings are closed.
🚛 WisDOT Detour – Primarily for Truck Traffic
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has designated Hwy 39 → Hwy 66 as the official detour for truck traffic.
🚛 Truck traffic should follow the posted WisDOT detour, see below.

🚗 Local Traffic
Local motorists have options for getting around the closed railroad crossings:
- Follow the official WisDOT detour using Hwy 39 and Hwy 66, or
- Use local roads to route around the railroad tracks and closed crossings.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution in the area while the railroad crossing work is underway.
